1. Why
Chinese Wordings Are Unable To Be Viewed? How to configure the Chinese Environment for Windows XP English version. |
Below are the solutions
to solve the inability to view Chinese wordings when
browsing Chinese sites:
IE4.X:Under
the Top Toolbar Menu, click on "View",
select "Fonts", and then select
"Chinese
Simplified (GB2312)".
IE5.X or Above: Under the Top Toolbar Menu, click on "View", select "Encoding", and then select "Chinese Simplified (GB2312)".
Download Language Support Components for Your IE Browser
You can download
Chinese support components to read Chinese characters.
This applies to all Windows Operating Systems. Most Web
pages contain information that tells the browser what
language encoding (the language and character set) to
use.
If the page does
not include that information, and you have the Language
Encoding Auto-Select feature on, Internet Explorer can
usually determine the appropriate language encoding.
To turn Auto-Select on:
(a) On the View menu in Internet Explorer,
point to Encoding, and then make sure
Auto-Select has a check mark. If it doesn't, click
it.
(b) If you are prompted to download language support
components, click Download.
(c) If Auto-Select cannot determine the correct language
encoding, you can manually select it. (The language
encoding of Ezhishi.net should be Chinese Simplified
(GB2312)).
To select the language encoding for a
Web page
On the View menu, point to
Encoding, point to More, and then click
the Chinese Simplified (GB2312).
If you are prompted to download language support
components, click Download.
Notes:
If the Auto-Select feature or a specific language
pack is not installed on your computer, Internet
Explorer will prompt you to download the files as
needed.
Adding languages
does not guarantee that your computer has a font that
can display Web pages in your preferred languages. To be
prompted when fonts need to be added, click the Tools
menu, click Internet Options, click the
Advanced tab, and then select the Enable Install
On Demand check box.
Netscape4.0X:Under
the Top Toolbar Menu, click on "View",
select "Encoding", and then select
"Chinese
Simplified (GB2312)"
Netscape4.5X:Under
the Top Toolbar Menu, click on "View",
select "Character Set", and then
select "Chinese
Simplified (GB2312)"
This problem may also
be caused by the loading process. If this happens, please
click and hold the "Shift" key, and
at the same time click on the "Refresh"/
"Reload" button at the Top Browser
Menu to load a new updated page.
